24 teams at the U-10 Baseball Super Cup 2024

The U-10 Baseball Super Cup 2024 saw the German academy team, Future Stars, achieve a remarkable back-to-back victory. They defeated Hrosi Brno in the finals of the Coach-Pitch Tournament and excelled in the Masters skill disciplines, securing the overall winner's cup for the second consecutive year.

The tournament, hosted at the Sports Relaxation Complex in Hluboká, featured 24 teams, including 15 from Czechia and nine international teams. Despite rainy weather, the event maintained its full schedule of 88 games over three days, highlighting the dedication and hard work of the organizing team. The children enjoyed additional activities such as the Saturday All-Star Game under the lights and the Masters skills competition.

Future Stars displayed exceptional performance, remaining undefeated throughout the tournament and defeating Hrosi Brno twice. Technika Brno, which advanced thanks to a wild card, finished third in the tournament. Sokol Hluboká, the home team, achieved fourth place and secured the overall bronze position.

The Vienna Hurricanes, participating for the first time, represented a "Baseball School" focused on young players, aligning with the Super Cup's goal of fostering a strong connection between children and baseball. The atmosphere was friendly and fair play was paramount, with coaches, parents, and officials working together to overcome weather challenges and ensure the games proceeded smoothly.

The tournament also featured special events, including fireworks and an autograph session with Czech national team members. The Czech All-Star team, coached by Pavel Chadim, triumphed over the international selection in a thrilling 7-4 victory.

Jakob Schumann from Future Stars was named MVP of the tournament. Other individual awards included Wojciech Smigaj (Best Batter), Vilém Beran (Best Slugger), Tobiáš Novosad (Best Infielder), Jona Butt (Best RBI Player), and Vojtěch Kašpar (Most Runs Scored). The Fair Play Award was given to Filip Farnleitber from the Vienna Wanderers.

Future Stars' head coach, Ulli Wermuth, expressed his satisfaction: "We appreciate the opportunity to play here and learn from Czech baseball. Our experience at the Super Cup has been invaluable, and we hope to develop coach-pitch baseball in Germany similarly."

The tournament also saw the participation of international umpires from Italy and Austria, along with top Czech umpires, underscoring the event's prestigious status. The presence of scorer Romana Kucková, awarded the Best Scorer of 2023 by WBSC Europe, further highlighted the event's significance.
