For the first time since 2003, Sweden hosted a Junior Girl’s Softball Championship, proving that the game of fastpitch softball is continuing its growth in Sweden.

In a rematch from last season, Specchiasol Bussolengo repeats again as the Italian Softball League Champion. With three closely matched games, Bussolengo won all three games of the Championship Series against S.C. Forlì – a Series which featured extra-innings and rain delays.

Europeans representatives Great Britain and Israel will meet Sunday night at MCU Park at 18:00 EDT in Brooklyn to decide the 16th and final ticket into the WBSC-sanctioned World Baseball Classic in March 2017.

The German U-12 National Team defeated host nation Czech Republic, 9-2, in the finale of the U-12 Baseball Europe Championship on 9 July.

The 3rd edition of the ESF-sanctioned regional tournament – Baltic Open – was decided in Skövde, Sweden. In Women’s tournament, host’s Sweden squared off against Lithuania and both the Danish U-19 and Senior National Teams. In the Men’s tournament, Sweden hosted Lithuania and Denmark’s U-19 National Team.

The inaugural Softball Against Cancer (SAC) Day was organized at the Hoofddorp Pioniers Stadium in the Netherlands by Ginger de Weert, a long-time Dutch national team pitcher.
