New Softball Competitions Regulations Released by WBSC Europe

WBSC Europe is pleased to announce the release of the new Softball Competitions Regulations. These regulations include the newly adopted WBSC Tie Breaker regulations, which introduce the Team's Quality Balance (TQB) as a key tie-breaking criterion.

All ties after the Opening Round will be settled in the following order:

1. Head-to-Head Results: The team that won the game(s) between the tied teams will be given the higher position.

NEW 2. Team's Quality Balance (TQB): Calculated as (runs scored / innings played at bat) – (runs allowed / innings played on defense). In the case of a three-way tie, the TQB will rank all three teams from highest to lowest.

3. Best Earned Runs Team's Quality Balance (ER-TQB): The team with the best ER-TQB will be ranked higher.

4. Highest Batting Average: The team with the highest batting average in games between the tied teams will be ranked higher.

5. Coin Flip: If all other criteria fail to break the tie, a coin flip will determine the ranking.

The implementation of these regulations aims to enhance the clarity of the competition, ensuring that all ties are resolved fairly.
