The British team, led by Georgina Corrick, will now face Italy in the gold medal game of the Women's Softball European Championship 2024 at 16:30 today, while the Netherlands will play against Czechia for bronze at 14:00.

The game between Great Britain and the Netherlands was split across two days due to heavy rain, with the first inning played last night before being postponed.

Once resumed, Great Britain took control of the game in the second inning, scoring two runs after just one pitch. A Dutch throwing error on a bunt laid down by WARSOP allowed SNOW and CHAN to cross home plate, giving Great Britain an early lead after one pitch only.

The Netherlands responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the second inning to narrow the gap. WISSINK hit a solo home run to deep left field, bringing the score to 2-1.

In the seventh inning, Great Britain added another run, extending their lead to 3-1. WARSOP doubled through the right side, advanced to third, and scored on wild pitches.

The Dutch were unable to rally in the final inning, and Great Britain secured their spot in the final with a 3-1 victory, upsetting the European champions and tournament hosts.

Great Britain will now face Italy in the gold medal game, while the Netherlands will battle Czechia for the bronze medal.
