Undefeated Italy secured their 13th continental title at the Women's Softball European Championship 2024, triumphing on the same field where they qualified for the Olympics in 2019. This victory comes exactly one year before the start of the 2025 European Championship.

Italian starting pitcher Nicolini delivered an impressive performance in the circle, allowing just three hits—two of which came in the first inning—earning the win. On offense, Italy was powered by standout contributions from Isabella Dayton, who went 2-for-3 and closed the event with a .520 AVG, Erika Piancastelli, who went 2-for-4, and McKenzie Barbara, who went 2-for-4, including a home run.

For the first time in the history of the Women's Softball European Championship, Italy and Great Britain faced each other in the final. The 2024 one, marks the 24th edition of the competition.

After only six pitches in the first inning, Italy took the lead. Dayton reached base with a bunt, swiftly stole second, and was driven home by Piancastelli's RBI double. This early action put Italy ahead 1-0.

Italy extended their lead in the third inning with two more runs. Dayton hit a sharp line-drive triple to left-center, showcasing her speed. Barbara followed with a stand-up double off the outfield fence, driving in Dayton. Pinch runner Di Pancrazio then replaced Barbara and scored on a hit by Cecchetti, pushing Italy’s lead to 3-0.

Two innings later, Barbara greeted Great Britain’s relief pitcher Clark-Wilson with a powerful home run to center field, extending Italy's lead to 4-0, the final result of the game.

Italian pitcher Alice Nicolini struck out two British batters during the game and worked with the flawless defense behind her that sealed every opportunity for Great Britain to score. Despite their best efforts, Great Britain couldn't break through Italy's strong defensive wall, ultimately leaving them scoreless at the end of the game.

Italy last claimed the Women's Softball European Championship title in 2021.
