On Monday, October 28, 2024, a Game Officials Clinic will be hosted in Clermont-Ferrand, France, prior to the Youth Baseball5 European Championship. The clinic will focus on Baseball5 Game Officials assigned to the Youth European Championship who are not yet certified by WBSC Europe. Certified Game Officials are also encouraged to attend as part of their continuing education, especially in light of the newly introduced 2024 rules.

The clinic will be led by Tony Jones from Finland, WBSC Europe Chief of Game Officials, and Ludovic Meillier from France, WBSC Europe Baseball5 Technical & Competitions Director.

The primary goals of the clinic include harmonizing the interpretation of the 2024 Baseball5 Rulebook, optimizing scoring system techniques, discussing the regulations for Baseball5 events in 2024, and providing WBSC Europe Game Officials certification.

The day will be divided into several sessions, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects. The morning session, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, will begin with the introduction of the clinic, including the presentation of instructors and participants. Following this, at 10:00 AM, the focus will shift to reviewing the new Baseball5 rules, including interpretations from the 2024 Rulebook.

During the lunch break, participants will have the opportunity for social exchange and networking. In the afternoon session, running from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the instructors will cover the roles of field and table officials, focusing on positioning and mechanics. This will be followed by a detailed explanation of how to correctly fill out game documents such as the lineup and scorecard at 3:00 PM.

After a coffee break, participants will engage in further interactions and knowledge-sharing. The practice session, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, will include practical exercises, a feedback session, and a Q&A round. Certificates will be distributed to participants, and a group photo will be taken to commemorate the event.

In the evening, participants will be transferred to their hotel, followed by a group dinner to allow for further socializing and exchange of ideas.

The Baseball5 Game Officials Clinic in Clermont-Ferrand is an essential preparation event.
