Belgium wins U-15 Baseball European Qualifier 2024 in Sisak, Croatia

Belgium has won the U-15 Baseball European Qualifier 2024, which was played this past week in Sisak, Croatia. They defeated Slovakia in the final on Saturday by a score of 9-4. With the win at the Qualifier, Belgium earns a spot in next year’s U-15 Baseball European Championship.

It was a thrilling final game on Saturday at the U-15 Baseball European Qualifier 2024 in Croatia with both teams scoring in seven of the first ten half innings played.

Belgium eventually ran away with the lead and secured the victory. Kentaro Martinez Ishihara and Lotte Schats combined to keep Slovakia to four hits in the game. Kaj Armirotto led the way on offense with two RBI. Lars Verbeken and Kenzo Ciprietti scored twice for Belgium. Lukas Brhlovic took the loss. Frantisek Kotlarik scored two runs for Slovakia.

Belgium and Slovakia had dominated first-round play in Siska, each winning four of the five games played in the preliminary phase. Belgium only lost to Austria, while Slovakia was defeated by Belgium also in first-round play. Croatia, Austria, Switzerland and Bulgaria rounded up the final standings at the tournament.
