Kranjski Lisjaki win Baseball European Federation Cup Qualifier 2024 in Slovenia

In the final game on Saturday in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the game started with two scoreless innings, bevor Kranjski broke the scoreless tie with two runs in the bottom half of the third. In the fourth they plated a whopping nine runs to blow the score wide open. Four more runs in the fifth ended the game by mercy rule.

Pitchers Johan Belisario and Bruno Giacalone struck out a combined twelve batters in five scoreless innings, where they didn’t allow any Valerenga hits. Ryan Mirza hit a home run. Tosja Lesjak collected four hits, three runs and three RBI. Alex Guilford was the lone batter for Valerenga to reach base.

Lisjaki dominated all week, winning all four games in the preliminary round phase of the tournament as well. Valerenga finished in second place ahead of Akademics Sofia, Angels Trnava and Eagles Cluj.
