BECC Day 4: VOITH Heidenheim, Guggenberger Legionaere with Wins on Wednesday

Eagles Praha – VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe 0-9 (Box score)

The VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe defeated the Eagles Praha 9-0 on Wednesday evening. Jared Mortensen and Dalton von Schamann combined to keep the Eagles to two hits and a walk, while striking out 15 batters in nine scoreless innings. At the plate Drew Janssen set the tone as leadoff hitter, going 4-for-6 with three runs and three RBI. Gary Owens and Shawn Larry had two RBI apiece. Marcus Weinzimer had the two for Praha. Emmanuel Herrera got charged with the loss.

Guggenberger Legionaere Regensburg – Draci Brno 7-1 (Box score)

In a meeting of 2-1 clubs, the Guggenberger Legionaere Regensburg prevailed 7-1 over Draci Brno on Wednesday evening in the second BECC game on the fourth match day. Regensburg scored three quick runs in the first two frames. After Javier Lucena got Draci on the board with a RBI single in the fourth, the Guggenberger Legionaere sealed the win a grand slam in the seventh. Alexander Schmidt also homered for Regensburg. Kieran Lovegrove had eight strikeouts in seven innings to pick up the win.

The Baseball European Champions Cup 2024 resumes play after the Olympics with a game day on August 14, when the VOITH Heidenheim Heidekoepfe take on the Guggenberger Legionaere Regensburg and Draci Brno face the Eagles Praha.
